Reflexology
What
is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an holistic therapy that works on the whole person, not just the symptoms presenting themselves. It is a touch therapy based on "zone therapy". If you can imagine your body being sliced into ten long portions from head to toe, this would give you ten zones each containing organs of the body. These are the ten energy zones of the body. Each toe is in an energy zone- the big toe is in zone one, the next toe is in zone two and so on. When a meridian point is blocked, the energy flow is decreased and congestion occurs at this point. A blockage of energy in one of these zones can cause a problem along that particular zone. By applying pressure to the feet specific parts of the body are stimulated. This helps the energy to normalise and self-healing to take place. Reflexology is a safe, non-invasive method of balancing the functions of the body enabling a person to maintain harmony and optimum health.
Many diseases in the body have their root in the digestive system. There are reflexes in the colon that relate to the organs of the body. Along side my Colonic irrigation treatments 1 am also able to work on the areas of the feet which relate to the digestive system. Working these reflexes will encourage better health.
What does Reflexology do?
Reflexology is a touch therapy. In these days when the pace of life is fast, people are suffering more and more from stress. When a body is stressed the cardiovascular system tightens and restricts blood flow. This means that the circulation becomes sluggish and the required nutrients and oxygen cannot be carried efficiently. Reflexology improves the circulation, which means that nutrients and oxygen can be carried to the body cells, where they are needed, more efficiently.
Reflexology cleanses the body of toxins. If the excretory systems of the body (the lymphatic system, the lungs, kidneys and skin) become blocked, toxins will build up in the body. A build up of toxins can cause many problems such as headaches nausea tiredness and poor skin. By inducing deep relaxation, reflexology can help the excretory systems to work more efficiently thus relieving the build up of toxins. The client will feel much better.
Many specific ailments respond well to reflexology. Once blocked energy fields are opened, cleansing and deep relaxation has taken place, the body is in a good condition to heal itself Regular reflexology treatments give relief from both mental and physical stress and clients become aware of a feeling of well being.
